Hand painted papier mache flat bird decoration, red with Jasmine White’s own pretty floral decoration. Papier Mache is a delicate decorative art which shows the artistic zeal of each craftsman. The art was introduced in the C15 by a Kashmiri Prince and was highly favoured by Mughal emperors of the C15 and C16. The tradition continues today with each piece being hand crafted and then hand painted. Intricate decorations incorporate vivid colours, flowers and birds with a strong Persian flavour These objects are not only beautifully decorated but are surprisingly light and strong, the coating lacquer protects them from water damage and gives them extra durability – ideal for decorations.   Approx 10cm from tip of beak to end of tail
